Helen Tibbitts

November 11, 1927 — March 23, 2019

Helen was born in Newton, Massachusetts on Nov. 11, 1927, and died March 23, 2019. She grew up in Washington, D.C. She attended Grinnell College in Iowa and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BS in Education followed by an MS degree from NY State University. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She married Jack Tibbitts in 1950 and has four children, Tibi, Stephen, Constance and Peter, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She maintained homes for the family in Binghamton, New Hartford, and Woodgate in New York State, Dayton, Ohio, Dewey, Arizona, and Meadowlakes, Texas, and taught school for 16 years in New York State.

Her interests included travel, bridge, crafts, singing, golf, church and PEO. She served as President of her PEO chapter in Arizona and was a current member of Chapter IG in Meadowlakes. She served as a deacon in the Presbyterian Church and as a Director of the Southwest Conference of the United Christ Church and was currently an active member of the St Andrew Presbyterian Church.

Her travel interests were extensive, visiting 49 different countries, covering all continents except Antarctica and including an 88 day trip around the world in 1989. She visited all 50 states in our country and 8 provinces of Canada.

We are deeply grateful to all family, friends, St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, PEO and care givers for all the help and support during her time of illness and especially to our daughter-in-law, Diana.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at St Andrew Presbyterian Church, 201 Highway 1431 East Marble Falls, Texas. In lieu of flowers consider donations to St Andrew Presbyterian Church.
