David Lynn McGuffey passed away on May 10, 2019. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel and Douglas.
Mr. McGuffey was born in San Saba, Texas and served in the US Air Force. He was a remarkably prolific carpenter. The myriad walls and ceilings he leaves behind will continue to provide families and communities with places of refuge and fellowship for many lifetimes.
David was an adept outdoorsman. His exemplary ethics accountability kept him in tune with Nature, and he fed droves with the keep she awarded him.
He passes on the knowledge that life is best enjoyed uncomplicated by material excess, and the act basing oneself’s worth on the opinions of others is a fruitless endeavor.
The jack-of-all-trades had a tool for every task and preached a simple philosophy: “Just gotta’ make it work.” It means to keep striving because there is always a way. It applies universally to existence on this plane, where oftentimes there is no off-the-shelf solution for the hardships we will encounter.
David returned to his home planet after an arduous battle bravely defending humanity from an interstellar threat.
His memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 28 at 3:30 p.m. at Kingsland Baptist Church.
