VETRIDE, which is partially supported by a grant by the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans Assistance, was honored recently by Sen. John Cornyn, who rode the VETRIDE van to the Kingsland RM 2900 bridge dedication ceremony on Friday, May 24. Cornyn presented a certificate to VETRIDE director Sophie McCoy that day and Burnet County Commissioners recognized McCoy at the May 29 Burnet County Commissioners meeting. Pictured, from left, are Precinct 1 Commissioner Jim Luther Jr., Precinct 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle, County Judge James Oakley, McCoy, Precinct 3 Commissioner Billy Wall and Precinct 4 Commissioner Joe Don Dockery.
