Dorothy Jean “Dottie” Anderson

Dorothy Jean "Dottie" Anderson of Horseshoe Bay, Texas passed away from a pulmonary embolism on June 6, 2019 while traveling in the Southeast United States. She was 76 years of age, born on Nov. 22, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dottie completed high school in Kirkwood, Missouri and graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas (1960-1964) where she met Wayne Anderson. They were married on Jan. 30, 1965. They have two children, Chris and Beth, who reside in South Lake, Texas (near Fort Worth) and West Cypress Hills, Texas, respectively. The family includes daughter-in-law Moria and son-in law Gerry Deming along with nine grandchildren.
During their marriage, Dottie was a full-time mom. During Wayne's career with Amoco Corporation, they were assigned to Denver, Texas City and Chicago where Wayne was Senior Vice President. They returned to Texas after Wayne's retirement from Amoco and resided in Horseshoe Bay, Texas for 21 years.
During that time, Dottie was active in the community by serving on various boards (PEO) and on the Benevolence Committee and other work for The Church at Horseshoe Bay. Dottie was active in golf and playing bridge in various groups.

A memorial service for Dottie will be held at The Church at Horseshoe Bay on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 1 p.m. with reception to follow.
