Happy little memories go flitting through my mind, and in all my thoughts and memories I always find the picture of your face, Mom, the memory of your touch and all the other things I’ve come to treasure so much. You cannot go beyond my thoughts or leave my love behind because I keep you in my heart and forever in my mind.
Patsy Sue Enloe, 82, of Kingsland, Texas, joyfully left her earthly body to be with her Lord and Savior and her beloved family on June 6, 2019. She was born Feb. 22, 1937 in Pampa, Texas, to Jewel and William Bryan Taylor.
Pat married her childhood friend and high school sweetheart, David Enloe, in 1955. Pat began working as a secretary at an insurance agency mid-term of her senior year at Pampa High School. She then worked for Beacon Supply Company and Cabot Corporation in Pampa prior to moving to Kingsland. Shortly after, the family increased with the birth of Wendy Sue.
The Enloe’s quickly became active in the Kingsland community and made their church home Kingsland First Baptist Church. Pat was once a member of the Hallelujah Brass Handbell Choir and the Sanctuary Choir. She also served as an assistant with the Young Musicians of the church, Mission Friends, and Faith Families. She later became a member of the Chapel of the Hills Baptist Church in Buchanan Dam.
In 2006, Pat retired from Highland Lakes Bank after 32 years of service. Retirement did not last long, and she returned part time in the stock brokers area of the bank. She had a strong will to work and her final job was a part time secretary of A&B Termite & Pest Control.
In addition to her countless hours of working and volunteering, her passion was water skiing. She was both a competitive and show skier and accumulated trophies at tournaments all over the State of Texas. However, a severe injury in 1963 kept her from skiing but never quenched her love for the sport.
Pat and David shared the passion of skiing and mentoring the youth in Kingsland. In 1980, the couple established a ski team they named “Enloe’s Outlaws” and the team performed at Aqua Boom from 1980 to 1992. The practices were long, hard, and very special to Pat. They referred to the members of the team as “their kids” and Pat was especially proud when they called her “Mom” years later.
Her sense of humor, strong will, big smile, and never give up attitude were an example to all who knew and loved her. Although she lived with constant pain from an early age, she would always say she was just fine when asked. The pain is gone now Mom, and you are with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and jumping in those mud puddles with Dad.
She is preceded in death by her husband of over 51 years, David Enloe; mother; father; and brothers, Don and Lloyd Taylor.
Pat is survived by her beloved daughter and light of her life, Wendy Sue Enloe-Smith; and her favorite son-in-law, Chad Smith; granddaughter, Hannah Smith, all of Burnet; nieces, Cathie Place and husband Larry of Canyon, Texas; Pam Sebastian and husband John of South Dakota; Teresa Burtz and husband Chris of Dallas, Texas; Cinda Taylor-Franklin and husband Don of Sacramento, California; nephew, Drew Taylor and wife Lynn of Placentia, California; many great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held Friday, June 7, 2019 at Putnam Funeral Home Kingsland. Funeral services were held Saturday June 8, 2019 at Kingsland First Baptist Church. Interment was Saturday, June 7, 2019 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. An online guest register book and maps may be found at PutnamCares.com.
