From staff reports

Faith Academy athletic director Jeremy Wentrcek accepted an offer from The Christian School at Castle Hills in San Antonio to become the school's AD and head football coach.

Wentrcek said on social media that he made the decision by being “sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.”

Our latest adventure in following God's calling will take us to the Christian School at Castle Hills in North San Antonio where I will serve as athletic director and head football coach,” he said in a social media post. “We are looking forward to the next chapter in this great adventure!”

Prior to the announcement, Faith Academy already hired Stephen Shipley to assume head football coaching duties. Wentrcek's depature will not impact operations, and the school will not fill the athletic director position “any time soon,” Faith Academy director of operations Donna Wilcox said in an email statement.

In his only season as the head football coach, Wentrcek led the Flames to a 3-8 record with a 2-3 district record. The Flames were eliminated by San Jacinto Christian Academy in the first round of the playoffs.

The Flames and Shipley begin their 2019 season at home on Sept. 6 against Summit Christian Academy of Cedar Park.
