Lupe Flores Castillo

February 11, 1936 — July 5, 2019

Lupe Flores Castillo passed away on July 5, 2019. She was born Feb.11, 1936 in Hondo, Texas, to Manuel Flores and Angelita Castillo Flores.

Lupe worked as a migrant worker with her family as a young girl where she met and married the love of her life, Candido Castillo, at age 16 and became a house wife and mother of eleven.

She is survived by her children, Margaret Ramirez, Pete Castillo, Isidro Castillo, Ruben Castillo, Carmen Wilkes and Joe Castillo; her loving sister, Teresa Ibarra; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first love, Candido; five children, Benito, Juan Manuel, Paul, Juan and Jane; her siblings, and her second husband, Gonzalo.

She was always so welcoming to anyone and everyone who stepped foot in her home. She loved to garden; roses were her favorite. She had the most beautiful plants in the neighborhood. She loved to cook and she made the best tortillas.

Lupe loved to dance! She did not leave the house without wearing her lipstick or her heels! Lupe loved to tell stories of her youth and her Cinderella love story with grandpa.

She was devoted to her faith and had a special devotion to our Lady the Virgen de Guadalupe. Lupe had a smile that could warm your heart and a love for her family like no other. You knew that when you were in her presence that you were loved and always welcomed no matter what. To be around her was to be loved by her.

Visitation will be July 10, 2019 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be July 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marble Falls, Texas.
