The Llano Lions Club has announced plans for their inaugural Sporting Clays for a Cause to be held Saturday, Aug. 17.

The event will be held on Inks Ranch, one of the most scenic and historic ranches in Texas. It has been registered in the Texas Family Land Heritage Program, certifying that it has been maintained in continuous operation for more than 100 years by the same family.

MEC Sporting Clays will serve as tournament operations partner and will design and operate a 10-shooting station, 100-target course with volunteer support of the Llano Lions Club. This event will be a Lewis System event and is open to all shooters from novice to expert to enjoy a fun shoot while sharpening their skills. Coopers BBQ will be the event caterer.

Individual entry fee is $125 per person or $500 for a team of four shooters who each receive a welcome goodie bag and breakfast and lunch on the day of event. A noon time flurry shoot is also planned immediately following the morning competition.

A Lions Club drawing, which is currently underway, offers an engraved Kimber 1911 Crimson 45 ACP handgun grand prize to be given away on Aug. 17 at the event; participants need not be present to win. Other drawing prizes include a Benchmade Auto pocket knife and a Yeti 75 cooler. Tickets are $20 each or six for $100 and may be purchased by contacting any Llano Lion club member while supplies last.

The Llano Lions Club is an all volunteer, dues-paying membership that meets at noon on Wednesdays at Inman’s Kitchen. New members are always welcome. Club members donate their time and talent to support several community programs including scholarships, free eye screening and sponsoring local special needs campers attending the Texas Lions Club Summer Camp in Kerrville.

The event is sponsored by Arrowhead Bank. For event registration, sponsorship and other event information call Lion Barry Box at 361-774-8655. Registration forms also available at the Llano Chamber of Commerce.
