Alice Jane Taylor

March 1, 1933 — July 21, 2019

Alice Jane Taylor, age 86, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at her residence in Marble Falls, Texas. Jane, or Mawmaw, as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, was born on March 1, 1933 in Houston, Texas, to Willie Roy Johnson and Jewel May Taylor.

She was the youngest of four children, and was preceded in death by her husband of over 57 years, Roger Bryson Taylor, who was the love of her life. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers, Clyde and Billy Johnson.

She is survived by her brother, Bobby Johnson and her children, Guy and his wife Cindy, Mark and his wife Kelly, and Brenda. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Along with her faith in God, her family was the center of her life. She devoted herself to their care and gave everything she could to them. Jane had a passion for making the most fabulous quilts, all lovingly sewn by hand. Her talents were well known as she crafted many quilts out of care and love for children's hospitals and cancer patients.

Jane also loved babies and when Roger said he felt they had all the biological children they could pray over, Jane took in foster children. Throughout her time as a foster parent in both Austin and Marble Falls, hundreds of babies were rocked in her loving arms.

Jane was a feisty woman. Who wouldn't be growing up the only girl with three older brothers? She could make her opinions known loud and proud but she expressed a softer side to our family, who were her main caregivers during the final seven years of her life. Our family would like to express our thankfulness to the lovely women at Gateway Villa Assisted Living who made her final years such happy ones.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas. Graveside services will take place at Oatmeal Cemetery in Oatmeal, Texas on Wednesday July 24, 2019.
