Mason Cole Jobes
July 14, 2000 — June 30, 2019
Mason Cole Jobes, beloved son of Brian Noble Jobes and Erika Elaine Taylor, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2019.
He was born on July 14, 2000 in Austin, Texas. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Vinita Jobes; his half-sister, Juhi Kulkarni; brother, John Dylan Jobes; his grandfathers, Jim Taylor and Harold D Jobes; grandmothers, Helen Jobes and Cheryl Jobes; uncles, Sam Jobes, Joe Stebe, Robert Kosta and David Kosta; aunts, Elise Stebe, Andrea Jobes and Lana Sveda; his dog, Buddy and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kay Taylor.
Mason was proud of his Texas heritage. He came from many generations of Texas ranchers dating back to the arrival of his earliest ancestors who settled in the DeWitt Colony when Texas was still a part of Mexico. He was especially happy exploring his Grandpa Harold’s ranch with his grandpa, dad and brother. He liked helping with the cattle, hiking, swimming in Hickory Creek and learning about birds and wildflowers. He also enjoyed beach vacations with his mother and exploring skate parks with his Grandpa Jim. He was very athletic, played soccer and loved to snowboard, skateboard, and snow ski. Going out to the lake to swim and Jet Ski with his grandma Helen were favorite activities. He had the opportunity to travel through the US and lived for a while in Costa Rico. Wherever he was he always seemed to find a mountain to climb with his dad and stepmother. He loved scary movies, playing video games, cooking and time spent with Dylan, Juhi and his dog Buddy.
Mason’s time on earth was too short and he will be greatly missed by his family who loved him dearly. Mason was laid to rest July 6 in the Smithwick Cemetery near the family ranch.
