A recent two-vehicle crash on U.S. 281 sparked reaction from commuters concerned about the status of a blinking light at the intersection of the highway and Resource Parkway.
The incident happened around 2:15 p.m. Aug. 13 in the intersection of the four-lane highway. The location on the east side of the roadway is the entryway/exit to the Marble Falls Business and Technology Park. Pedernales Electric Cooperative is located on the westside of the highway.
“A vehicle was on Resource Parkway and pulled out, striking a vehicle that was northbound on 281 causing that northbound vehicle to roll over,” Marble Falls Police Capt. Glenn Hanson said of the collision.
“Only minor injuries of the two occupants of the roll over vehicle,” Hanson added.
The occupants were transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
In November 2018, the Texas Department of Transportation installed a traffic light at the intersection, however, the device has remained a yellow blinking light for north and southbound traffic with a red blinking light for those coming to and from Resource Parkway. . . .
