Billy James “Buster” Rasco

August 21, 1929 — October 9, 2019

Billy James “Buster” Rasco, a resident of Marble Falls, Texas, was born in Hebbronville, Texas on Aug. 21, 1929 and raised in Freer, Texas. He passed away on Oct. 9, 2019 at the age of 90.

Buster is survived by two sons, James Warren Rasco of North Bend, Washington, and Bobby Joe Rasco of Marble Falls, Texas; his daughter, Billie Jean Rasco of Denham Springs, Louisiana; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Laverne Rasco; his parents, James and Annie Rasco; his sisters, Hazel Pennington and Alma Lee Garbe; and his granddaughter, Sommer Rasco.

Buster followed in his father’s footsteps and worked in the oilfield most of his life. In 1971, he became an employee of Continental Oil Company and shortly thereafter, he and Laverne moved overseas, first to Dubai, Arabia and then to Jakarta, Indonesia. They remained there until their retirement to Marble Falls in 1985. Buster was passionate about hunting and loved to fish and do small woodworking projects. He was an active member of the Marble Falls Church of Christ.

Visitation was held at Clement-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 N. US Hwy 281 in Marble Falls, Texas on Monday, Oct. 14 between 6 and 8 p.m. Funeral Services were held at the Marble Falls Church of Christ, 711 Broadway, Marble Falls, Texas, at 11 a.m. with interment immediately after at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the church.
