Anne Vijil-Boyle

October 2, 1960 — November 20, 2019

Anne Vijil-Boyle passed away at her home in Marble Falls, Texas on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019. Born Anne Frances Sledd in Evanston, Illinois on Oct. 2, 1960, Anne moved to Austin with her parents, Dr. James Sledd Sr. and Joan Webb Sledd at the age of three, and was a lifelong central Texas resident.

She was a gentle, kind, loving, and devoted daughter, sister, mother, wife, and friend who cared dearly for the people around her. She sought to make the world a better place both through her personal life, as well as through her career as a counselor and social worker, particularly with youth.

She was always willing to lend an open ear to anybody in need, and those who came to her for advice or just looking for somebody to listen, knew that they could always count on Anne to provide a safe, non-judgmental place for them to express themselves and feel heard and loved. Along with people, Anne also loved animals, and carefully doted on many adopted dogs through the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by an older brother, James Sledd, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Mike “Big Mike” Boyle; son, Michael Sledd and his daughter Ysabel Sledd; son, Austin Sledd-Vijil; step-son Michael “Little Mike” Boyle, Jr. and his children, Ja’Niya, Kimi, Hailey and Michael Boyle II; brothers, Andrew Sledd Sr., Robert Sledd, and John Sledd; and all of their respective families.

Her love, humor, and kindness will all be deeply missed. The memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Spirit in the Hills Lutheran Church, 3001 Bee Creek Road, Spicewood, Texas 78669.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Marble Falls Senior Center. Donations can be sent via mail to Marble Falls Senior Activity Center, 618 Ave L, Marble Falls, Texas, 78654.
