Cora Lillian Foster

October 8, 1918 — December 16, 2019

Lillian was born in Edge, Texas to Willie and Cora Hill, on Oct. 8, 1918.

She went to her heavenly home on Dec. 16, 2019, very peacefully, in her home of 60 years.

She married Eldred Foster on Aug. 16, 1939. They had three children, Joan, Billy, and Ellie.

In 1949 they moved to Marble Falls and became active members of the community and the First Baptist Church of Marble Falls, where Lillian sang in the choir for 50 years and was in the Christmas Pageant every year. She was a great example of a Christian woman, helping and encouraging everyone, raising her children to love the Lord, honoring her husband, and being a hard worker.

In 1959 she and Eldred opened the Marble Falls Flower and Gift shop on Main Street. She became an excellent florist and served the county tirelessly until 1981. She worked all night on many occasions to provide flowers for funerals, weddings, and all other special occasions. She never turned anyone down that needed her services.

Lillian was loved and admired by all. She touched the lives of everyone that knew her. She was an excellent cook, crocheted many afghans, made many handcrafted items, sewed clothes for her family, and gardened. After their retirement, she and Eldred enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. with the Good Sam club, and she enjoyed taking cruises with her family. She has been a very active member of the Senior Center for many years.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred; and son Eldred (Ellie) Foster; her parents; and her five siblings. She is survived by her son, Billy Foster and wife Carmen; her daughter, Joan Yost and husband Denny; daughter-in-law, Nancy Foster; and her grandchildren, Kristin Sagebiel, Chad Foster, Shane Wall and Sean Wall, and seven great-grandchildren; as well as numerous family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her loving spirit, kind words and deeds and love of the Lord will be in our hearts and minds forever.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at 1 p.m., at the Fellowship Baptist Church on Mormon Mill Road, Marble Falls; Pastor Jamie Greening, followed by visitation with the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Marble Falls Senior Center or the Fellowship Baptist Church building fund.
