Horace Norman “Hoss” Barton Jr.

Horace Norman “Hoss” Barton Jr. passed away Dec. 28, 2019. He was born in Burnet, Texas to Horace Barton, Sr., and Mary Luella Fisher Barton.

Horace graduated in 1966 from Burnet High School where he played football, basketball, bowling, baseball, softball, pool and horseback riding. He also did agriculture and welding. His first job was welding.

Horace loved to play dominoes. He would say “ten stitches in your britches” and he loved to fix cars.

Horace loved to go to the nursing home where he would sing, pray and do bible study. He was a member of St. Frederick Baptist Church, where he loved Sunday School. He drove the bus for vacation bible school. Michelle Wayne Horace, III was always the first on the bus “The door would open and that meant get in!”

Horace was a people person, always thinking about everyone. He loved to drive 18-wheelers; the Peterbilt (named Leaping John) was his favorite. He also loved Budweiser.

Horace always said, “Turn off the light, it was off when you got in there;” “Don’t slam my door;” and “Stop crying or I will give you something to cry about.”

You will be missed dearly and your memories are the best.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls, Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 at 12 p.m. at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home and burial will be at Marble Falls City Cemetery.
