Texas Parks and Wildlife has identified a missing boater found in Lake Travis Jan. 29 near the Grelle Recreation area.

Dispatchers notified game wardens around 11 a.m. of the report and launched a 24-hour search for the person identified as 53-year-old Tommy Eady of Buda.

The search effort included “multiple boats, side-scan sonar and an unmanned aircraft system, along with a K9 unit.

Lower Colorado River Authority Rangers assisted and commenced searching the following day. Eady's body was found in the water using side-scan sonar and recovered around 10:30 a.m. Jan. 30.

The subject’s body was recovered in around 15 feet of water in close proximity to where the missing boaters Jon boat was found the day prior on the shoreline near the Grelle Recreation Area,” according to the TPWD press release.

Assisting with the investigation were Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, the Burnet County constable's office and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

The results of an autopsy are pending.
