Two local groups on a 'Mission' to feed during COVID-19 crisis

A local church and a non-profit organization have both made it their mission to work in tandem to do God's work as they serve the hungry, even in the midst of concerns about the coronavirus.

“We've got to-go only meals. We ask everybody to please come out,” volunteer Rev. George Perry said.

Perry, who is a volunteer with Mission Marble Falls, also serves as the pastor for St. Frederick Baptist Church in Marble Falls.

The church operates a complimentary program known as Mission Outreach, which prepares meals at the community room of the Boys and Girls Club of the Highland Lakes in Marble Falls. …

Mission Marble Falls volunteers are cooking and serving to-go meals Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Boys and Girls Club of the Highland Lakes community room, 1701 Broadway Ave.

Mission Outreach is serving takeout meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays starting at 9 a.m. for about an hour and a half at the church, 301 Avenue N. Participants can pickup takeout meals. …
