Burnet County commissioners reviewed a report on April 8 which revealed a negative impact on county revenues due to restrictions, orders and closures connected to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commissioners also reaffirmed the appointment of Dr. Juliette Madrigal as the county's local health authority and praised her work in leading the fight against the spread of the virus in the county.

County Auditor Karin Smith told commissioners the county's inmate count from other counties is “significantly lower” than in previous months, meaning revenue from inmate housing is expected to decrease by between $950,000 to $1.3 million for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
