Burnet County Commissioners hear latest COVID-19 update

Burnet County commissioners received an update on COVID-19 statistics for the county during their regular meeting Tuesday, April 14, and took action to apply for a grant to help offset virus-related costs and losses.

Commissioners also approved a proclamation that designates themselves and their road crews as first responders and took steps to initiate a new series of tax anticipation notes for special road and bridge projects.

As of Thursday, April 16, the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has Burnet County showing seven COVID-19 cases, with the state reporting 15,492 cases in 184 counties, including 364 fatalities and 1,538 people currently hospitalized for the disease. …
