Three councilmen were officially sworn in on Tuesday evening, and city officials said farewell to a dedicated councilman who had reached term limit.

The LCRA Board of Directors on Wednesday approved a $949 million business plan for fiscal year 2019 and also approved $368 million for capital spending in the fiscal year for energy, water and public service projects to support growth in Texas. 

The Lower Colorado River Authority is the primary wholesale provider of electricity in Central Texas, is one of the largest electric transmission services providers in Texas, and manages the six Highland Lakes and lower Colorado River.

Three candidates with a vast range of experience in the public and private sector are seeking the District 1 seat on the Pedernales Electric Cooperative Board of Directors this year.

Sales tax distributions for Marble Falls for the month of May 2018 rebounded strongly as collections for the year are nearly back on par with 2017.

Statewide, sales tax collections and distributions were up 9.4 percent, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced last week, as he sent $861.8 million to Texas cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts.
