James Michael “Sandy” Sandstedt Sr.

Sandy was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on August 30, 1934. He passed away on June 2, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

He and his wife Anita had moved to Granite Shoals, Texas, in 2003 from San Antonio to enjoy their retirement. He loved living his retirement years there. He was never a fisherman but enjoyed waterskiing and boating. Many a morning he would sit out on his deck with his one cup of coffee enjoying the sounds of nature and all the animals.

Today, we mark the passing of a great woman, Nina Francis Ruth Gaston Wood. She was born January 24, 1933, in Aspermont, Texas, in Stonewall County to William David Gaston and Ruby Laverne Beam. Some called her Mom, some called her Grandma or Mimaw, and some called her Aunt Nina, but all called her blessed, like the Bible says in Proverbs 31:28. She was a dedicated and fierce mother who raised four children on her own and was still able to help others in their time of need as well.

Phaneta Ann (Holland) Young, affectionately known as Neita Ann, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at home in Marble Falls. She was born January 16, 1952, in San Antonio to Kenneth Holland and Ruby Faye (Wilkinson) Holland. She married Frank Young on June 6, 1970, in Burnet.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Nathan Young.

Naomi Fay Wall was born June 21, 1926, in Spicewood, Texas, to Andrew and Bessie English, and passed away May 25, 2017 at Hillside Medical Lodge in Gatesville, Texas.

Visitation and a service was held Tuesday, May 30, at Evant Church of Christ, followed by a burial at Haynie Flat Cemetery in Spicewood.

Naomi married H.T. Wall on July 17, 1945 in Burnet, Texas. They had one child, a son, Jack V. Wall.

Stephen Francis Kinsella, 56, of Kingsland, Texas passed away on May 22, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

Steve was born in Melrose, Massachusetts, resided in Maine for two decades, then came to a fork in the road and “took a left” as he found his way to Texas. He was a devoted husband, father, and most recently a grandfather, which was the light of his days. Steve’s hobby was following the New England Patriots, the Red Sox, and building things. He enjoyed a successful career as a construction superintendent.

His maternal grandparents were Annie Evans and Andrew Jackson Crawford and his paternal grandparents were Jasper Hogan Lewis and Katherine Basheba Gilcrease.

Michael Halloran, 75, of Meadowlakes, passed away on May 21, 2017 at St. David’s Hospital South, Austin, Texas. He was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on June 5, 1941, the son of Augustine and Hazel Halloran.

Funeral services for Mike will be Tuesday, May 30, at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Marble Falls, Texas. Vigil service will be Monday, May 29, at 5 p.m. at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home with visitation to follow.

James (Jim) Keith Reeves

James (Jim) Keith Reeves, 67, of Buchanan Dam passed peacefully into the presence of Jesus at his home on Friday, May 19, after a long battle with cancer.

He was the son of James Franklin Reeves and Billie Evelyn Thompson Reeves Marsh, born in Lufkin, Texas on January 16, 1950.

The oldest of seven boys, Jim quickly learned responsibility.

He spent a life-time quietly helping others, no matter what the need.

Born with several health issues that he would battle throughout his life, he also learned at an early age how to walk through adversity with grace and perseverance.

Jim graduated from A&M University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in what he liked to call “mow and grow”.

Lola Bea Gates, formerly of Marble Falls, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, May 16, after a short stay at Hospice Quality Care in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Lola was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer in early February.

She made it known that her faith was not shaken and if God called her, she was ready to go.

When things got difficult, her favorite quote was, "After you've done all you can do, just stand."

Lola was born on August 17, 1946 in Summerfield, Louisiana to the late Berry Williams, Sr. and Idell Hill.
