Ethel (Dee) Gertrude Schultz went home to her Lord Saturday, May 13, at 3 a.m. when she passed away from illness surrounded by family at Midland Memorial Hospital. She had an amazing life, living to the age of 91. She had been in the care of her daughter, Kelli, in Midland for the last eight months. She loved to sew, make crafts, looking at antiques, playing dominoes, and most of all spending time with five generations of family and friends.

Jerry Lee McLean

Jerry Lee McLean, passed away May 17, 2017. Jerry was born in Oakalla, Texas to Clarence and Evalyn Hale McLean on March 9, 1943.

Jerry attended Mable Falls High School and he was a heavy equipment operator on a D-8 Dozer before he was old enough to drive a car. He later became a truck driver and drove 3 million miles over 46 states without having an accident. When he wasn’t driving a truck, he loved to play golf and fish.

Jerry is survived by his son, Patrick McLean and wife Becky, his brothers Martin McLean and wife Gladys and Edwin McLean and wife Judy, grandson Robert McLean and granddaughter Shelby McLean, all of Marble Falls, Texas, as well as numerous other relatives and close friends.

The family will have a private service at a later date.

Helen Marie Mitchell Carpenter, age 98, a former resident of Marble Falls and Buchanan Dam died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 4, in Wichita Falls.

Helen was born at the family’s farmhouse near Van Meter, Iowa, on April 21, 1919, to Lloyd and Marie Mitchell.

A bright and inquisitive child, Helen's musical talent was evident at an early age.

Robert Wade Jackson, 57, of Granite Shoals, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 7 at home, surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with Colorectal cancer.

Born November 24, 1959 in Burnet, to Stanton and Betty (Floyd) Jackson, Robert married his high school sweetheart, Minnie Lou (Candy) Kring, October 25, 1976 in Burnet.

He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator, working in the Highland Lakes area for 35 years.

Robert was a loving husband, father, and devoted family man who was loved and cherished by many.

He was always willing to lend a helping hand and his door was always open to anyone.

He never met a stranger.

Robert was an avid fisherman and hunter that enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his family, even making the local newspaper a few times with fish he caught and bucks that he shot.

Spicewood resident Damon Reid Hollingsworth, died peacefully February 20, 2016.

Son of Henry Reid Hollingsworth and Ruth Riddell Hollingsworth, Damon was born August 9, 1922, in Spicewood, the oldest of six children.

Graduating Dripping Springs High in 1940 he played basketball, baseball, ran track, and was an All- American six-man football player.

Because Dripping Springs High went through eleventh grade at the time, Damon attended San Marcos Academy to finish his senior year before attending college at Stephen F. Austin.

James Warren Cooper, 69, passed away Sunday, April 16.

A beloved partner, father, and friend, Jim is survived by his partner, Mary Jane Shanes; his sisters Betty (Dusty) Rhodes and Marilyn (Ed) Long; his daughters, Kara Cooper and Elizabeth Cooper; and his brother firefighters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Helen Cooper, and sister, Rebecca Cooper.

Jim graduated from Oklahoma State University and was a 30 year employee of the Social Security Administration.

He found his true calling as "Cooper" when he became a firefighter for East Lake Buchanan VFD.

Margaret H. Minard, known as Margo, died April 27, 2017 in Burnet, Texas. She was born October 2, 1923 on the family farm outside of Amsterdam, Ohio. Her parents were Osborne and Lulu Helphinstine, and she had one brother, James.

Margo was a long time resident of Texas and was preceded in death by her parents and brother. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Minard and son-in-law Mike Cravey of Marble Falls; a son, Frank Minard and his wife, Carol, of San Antonio. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Chris Cravey Hart, Kate Cravey Bravo, Jeffry Minard and Andrew Minard and five great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Waechter, son Neal Steffey and wife Laura, grandchildren Joseph Williams and Jerry Williams, great grandchildren Zachary Williams and Kacia Williams, sisters Louise Smith and Eulula Bell, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
