Marlene M. Menicke departed on her grandest journey on March 15.

Marlene was pure joy and happiness.

She lived a grand, joyous life, traveling the world and working and living in beautiful places.

Marlene was born February 4, 1938, on a farm near Ubly, Michigan to Edward and Martha (Bukoski) Heleski.

She graduated from Ubly High School in 1956 and quickly began her quest to see the world.

Peggy Joyce Feist

Peggy Joyce Feist was born on August 27, 1931, in O'Donnell, Texas. She stepped into eternity living with the Lord on March 9, 2017, in Burnet, Texas, at the age of 86 from heart complications.

After graduating from Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas, Peggy practiced nursing off and on for 25 years. For eight years, she was the secretary of the First Baptist Church in Marble Falls. Peggy often assisted her husband of 37 years, Bernard Clarence Feist, with their hardware store.

Patsy Colene Miers

Patsy Colene Miers, 85, passed away in Kingsland on March 9, 2017. She was born in San Antonio to her parents, Joe and Flossie Jackson.

She was married to Lewis M. White and together they had four children. After that marriage ended, she was subsequently married to J.W. (Dub) Miers.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Jack and Harvey, her sister Marjorie, her spouse J.W. (Dub) Miers, stepson Lonnie Miers, and granddaughter Misty K Dawn Lewis.

She is survived by her children, Linda Gail Hohertz (James), Sandra Kaye Lewis (Mark), Jackie Lewis White (Polly), and Douglas Scott White. In addition to her children, she is survived by one sister, Betty Bray; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Granite Shoals.

Velma Marie Jackson Maugham

Velma Marie Jackson Maugham, 76, received her angel wings on Thursday, March 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Velma was born on May 13, 1940, in Marble Falls, Texas, to Fay Laird and J.T. “Pete” Jackson. She married Willie Maugham Sr. on October 19, 1957. In their 58 years of marriage, they had four children. Velma was a stay-at-home mother for many years, during which time she raised plants in her greenhouse. After the children grew older, she went to work. She began with working at the Northwood Health Center and later found her true passion, working for the Marble Falls Independent School District, where she worked until she retired.

Usually wherever you saw Daddy, Momma wasn’t far behind. The same was true in their passing. Velma is preceded in death by her husband Willie Maugham Sr., her parents, sister Betty Cooper and son-in-law Roger Crowder Sr.

Pauline Mills Edwards Delaney, 96, died Friday, January 27, in Houston, Texas. A memorial service will be held at Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church, 1900 Bering Drive, at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18.

Pauline, known to many as Polly, was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on August 17, 1920, to Mary Christine (Hanks) and Paul Roger Mills. Her father, an independent oil man, moved the family to Houston, Texas in the early 1930s.

Mary Ola (Taylor) Turner passed away on March 4, 2017 in Marble Falls, Texas. She was born on March 16, 1923 in Abilene, Texas to Rev. W.I. Taylor and Myrtle Taylor.

She was the second of four children, who all preceded her in death: Connell Taylor, Patsy Landers, and Glenn Taylor.

She married H.N. Turner in 1941. Five children were born to their union. Mary graduated high school from Tuscola, Texas, and attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene. She was preceded in death by H.N. in 1997, and daughter, Marylyn Martin, of Marble Falls in 2013.

Mary is survived by children, Monty (Buddy) Turner and wife Cathy of Kingsland; Steve Turner and wife Cindy of Kingsland; Candy Whitman and husband Mark of Marble Falls; Lucretia Crenwelge and husband Curtis of Salado, Texas.

Golda Mae Littleton Denniston Lewis, born August 23, 1928 in Liberty Hill, Texas, to Sally Mae and Samford Littleton, died March 8, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Golda was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Robert A. Denniston, husband Costello C. Lewis and numerous other family members.

She is survived by her children, Charlotte Machen, Jean Eades, Robert A. Denniston, Jr., Marshall Garth Denniston, William Arthur Denniston, Annette Stewart and Jimmy Lewis, 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and other family members, too numerous to mention.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the loving care provided to Golda by Harbor Hospice.

Natalie Crawford, 87, formerly of Edna, went to be with her Lord and her family, on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017. She was born on Friday, July 19, 1929, in Edna to George Koop and Caroline Cline Koop, She was one of 11 children — six girls and five boys — blessed to this family. Natalie married the love of her life, James "Dale" Crawford, on Friday, Oct. 1, 1948, in Edna and they were blessed with four children: two boys and two girls. Natalie had always wanted to be a nurse, so when they were transferred to Lake Charles, Louisiana, in 1966, she had her opportunity to go to nursing school, and she became a LPN. In 1969, they were again transferred to Gonzales, Louisiana, where she nursed at the Federal Leprosarium Hospital in Carville, Louisiana.
