Parks and Rec seeks historical documentation of Johnson Park
by Alexandria Randolph
The Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking historical accounts for an award application to acknowledge the park system’s legacy.
Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department Director Robert Moss and staff are working on an application for the Lone Star Legacy Award, and continue to gather documentation of Johnson Park in its early years.
Moss said while he has plenty of photos of the park, he is missing photos from two very significant decades.
“I don’t have anything from the 30s and 40s,” he said, and added that he made requests to the Burnet County Historical Society and Falls on the Colorado Museum for photos as well as stories from those who remember the early days of the park.
