Patricia Sue “Pat” Riley, 74, of Spicewood, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, in Austin.
She was born April 8, 1941, in Cleveland, Mississippi, to Melton Lee Hinton and Edna Lee Burton Hinton-Smith.
Pat met the love of her life and married Vic Riley on Sept. 18, 1964. They had just celebrated their 50th year of marriage.
Pat’s greatest joys in life were her family and friends.
When her sister passed, she became a second Mom to her nieces and nephews, as well as the friends of her kids.
She never missed her children’s activities. From sports to Scouts to being Room Mom, she was involved, usually being in on organizing and planning of all.
Pat was a sweet soul, with never an angry word or bad thing to say about anyone.
She is survived by: her husband, Victor Anthony “Vic” Riley; daughters, Michelle Lee Riley Hubbard and husband, Ken, and Melissa Lynn Riley Tarbox and husband, Wes, and son, Brian Anthony Riley and wife, Erica.
Pat, or “Mimi” as she was known, was grandmother to eight grandchildren, including: Jacob Price Hubbard, Lucas Riley Hubbard, Tyler Wesley Tarbox, Kayley Alexandra Tarbox, Andrew Christian Riley, Jackson Alexander Riley, Sean Patrick Riley and Nicholas Anthony Riley.
Pat is also survived by: her sister, Alandra Mae Smith, and brother, Russell Lyndon Smith.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her sister, Shirley Annette Childers, and her brother, Melton Lee Hinton.
A visitation for family and friends was held Monday, July 13, from 6-8 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marble Falls with Rosary at 7 p.m.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park near Burnet.
Honoring Pat as pallbearers are: her sons-in-law, Ken Hubbard and Wes Tarbox; nephews, Tony Childers, Rob Childers and Tracey Turrentine, and her brother-in-law, Gary Riley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Pat should be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
