June 18, 1932 – July 21, 2015

For a love like no other, I thank my mother”

Glenda Janet Tims Harvey, 83, of Granbury,  Texas, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Granbury Villa after a short illness.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Glenda was born on June 18, 1932, in Buffalo Springs, Texas, to Elgin Cecil and Arminta Mae Tims.

She met the love of her life,  Glennis Floyd Harvey, at an early age while she was a seventh grader in White Settlement outside of Fort Worth, where she lived with her family. Glen knew right away she was the one.

They were married in White Settlement on June 10, 1950, in her parents’ home with her uncle, Bro. James D. Cox, officiating.

Glen and Glenda made their home in White Settlement until the grocery store business moved the family to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1961.

They resided there, raising their three children, until moving back to Denton, Texas, in 1975.  They moved to their final home in Granbury 35 years ago.

Glenda loved her Dallas Cowboys and her Texas Rangers–second only to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other special relatives.

She enjoyed gardening and always painting her house and fixing it up. Glenda also held a deep love and affection for animals.

She was preceded in death by: her parents and a sister, Valton Marie (Patsy) Hill.

Survivors include: her husband, Glen, of Granbury; son, Ricky Harvey of Granbury; daughters, Debbie Day and husband, Marshall, of Gatesville, and Cyndy Mulholland and husband, Barry, of Marble Falls; a sister, Darlene Sitton, of Fort Worth; a brother, Kenneth Tims and wife, Naida, of Alpine, Utah; grandchildren, Derrick Harvey (Kendra), Michelle Geslani (Ollie), Perry Garrett (Tanna), Chris Garrett (Candice), Candice Cozby (Tyler) and Adam Floyd; and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Glenda's honor to the American Cancer Society, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or a charity of one’s choice.
