Bob Dawson was born Sept. 27, 1927, and passed away on Aug. 22, 2015, at the age of 87 years. 

Bob was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, as the youngest of four children of Mary and George Dawson. His siblings preceded him in death.

Bob married Media See on May 28, 1948. They had two daughters---Elizabeth Dawson Humphrey of Dallas, Texas, and Barbara Dawson Shelton of Gunnison, Colorado.

He joined the Merchant Marines as a 17 year old and sailed across the Atlantic on ships carrying wounded servicemen from Europe to the United States. After the war, he moved to Borger, Texas, and joined his sister and brother in law in a small business.

He then enrolled in West Texas State College in 1947 where he and Media met. After his graduation, Bob joined the Marine Corps and was stationed for several years on the East Coast. After an honorable discharge from the Marines, Bob and Media returned to Borger, Texas, where he began a career in public accounting.

Bob served on the Borger City Council and was active in other local civic organizations. He established a private accounting practice and also co-owned and then was sole owner of a local retail store, Denny’s Menswear.

He loved golf and, as a result, he and Media retired to Horseshoe Bay Texas and Gunnison, Colorado, where he was a cart's ride away from the tee boxes. He cherished the friendships he made on the golf courses and played the game until he was no longer able to do so. He loved Saturday Night Live, visiting weekly with his bookie and being a charming host. 

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Media.

He is survived by: his daughters; grandchildren, Bryce Humphrey, and wife, Stefanie, Eryn Humphrey Springer and husband, Josh, Jordan Humphrey and Shelby Shelton Tuttle and husband, Burton; great three great grandchildren, Finley Grace and Mabel Monroe Tuttle and Elliott Blair Springer.

Arrangements were under the direction of Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in  Marble Falls.
