Evelyn Marie Barding Colclasure, 74, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, in Round Rock, Texas.
She was born on Aug. 26, 1941, in Ramsey, Illinois, and was one of five children of Floyd and Stella Rodefelt Barding.
Evelyn attended Pana High School in Pana, Illinois, before marrying Richard Dean Colclasure in 1959.
She lived in France, Germany, California, Kansas and Illinois before settling in Texas.
She was a lover of flowers and an avid gardener. She held numerous jobs including milking cows to running a trucking business while maintaining her excellent cooking skills. Her homemade bread and vegetable soup were unequaled.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kingsland and loved her church family, friends, and neighbors.
She was a kind and gentleperson, caring for and about others all of her life.
She loved God, all of her family and was a wonderful “Granny,” who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by: her husband, Richard Dean Colclasure of Kingsland; son, Kent Colclasure and wife, Rochelle, of Comanche; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Mogonye and Michael Jeffords, of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Kathy and Bradley Tribble of Llano; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Darrell Birkey, of Delavan, Illinois, and brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul Barding of Casey, Illinois, and Raymond and Patty Barding of Decatur, Illinois.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by: her parents, Floyd and Stella Barding; son, Andre Colclasure, and a sister, Junie Barding.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Kingsland, starting at 2 p.m. with the pastor Bubba Stahl officiating. Burial will follow at the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, Texas.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the kindnesses of her friends, neighbors, church, and doctors over the years.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home in Kingsland.
