Linda Cullum Adams

Oct. 10, 1938 – Oct. 6, 2015

 

Linda Cullum Adams went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015.

She was married to Senator Don Adams for 52 years and they lived in Blue Lake in Llano County, Texas.

Linda was a very active volunteer until she was struck down with Alzheimer’s. She was a children's advocate with the Highland Lakes CASA in Kingsland, Texas, and in Austin, and also volunteered with Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center in Burnet, Texas. She was recognized for her outstanding CASA service by the Travis County CASA organization.

Linda taught a Sunday School class for three-year-old children, while a member of Bannockburn Baptist Church and a women's Sunday School class when she was a member of the Baptist Church in Springwood.

She was in the first class of docents of the Governor’s Mansion. And, she served as a docent for 30 years.

Linda was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Marble Falls at the time of her death.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by: her husband, Don; her sister, Pat Knight of Amarillo; her son, daughter-in-law and grandson, Don and Julia Adams Jr., and their son, Thomas, of Kingsland; her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Debra and Rick Weaver, and their daughter, Ashlyn, of Kingsland; and her daughter, Dinah Street, and her children, Hayden and Reagan Street.

Linda was a graduate of Texas Tech with honors and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega.

She was a member of The House of Representatives Wives Club until her death. She was also an active member of The Senate Wives Club until her death.

Linda loved her Lord and her family.

A small graveside service was held at the Texas State Cemetery officiated by the Rev. John Brantley of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

Pallbearers have been named as: Bill Haley, Harold Piatt, Angelo Zottarelli, Al Richardson, Fred Hartman, and Karl Bayer.

Honorary pallbearers are: Babe and Marylin Schwartz, Mary Haley, Barb Sheriff, Sharon Marshall, Bill Hobby, Christine Nicknash and Bob Winn.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at St. Andrews in Marble Falls, with the Rev. Jim Thomas, a nephew, and the Rev. John Brantley, officiating.
