May 1, 1935~Nov. 14, 2015

Agnew Blair “A.B.” Colyer, 80, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, in his home in Granite Shoals, Texas.

A.B. was born May 1, 1935, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to Howard and Florence Pearl Williams Colyer. He was one of five siblings. His parents, siblings and first wife, Elaine, preceded him in death.

He is survived by: his daughter, Joanna Fowles; sons, John Colyer, James Colyer and Michael Colyer, who were born to A.B. and Elaine Colyer.

He was later married to the love of his life, Jacquelyn “Jacqui” Finnessey Wells, who preceded him in death on Sept. 29, 2013. He is also survived by his step-sons, Thomas Wells and Clayton Wells.

Although, not the birth parent of Katherine Wells and Carl Woods, A.B. could not have loved them more. He considered them his daughter and son and loved them unconditionally.

He is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

A.B. lived in Granite Shoals for many years.

He retired from the Lower Colorado Rive Authority and served his community as a Burnet County Constable (Precinct 4) for eight years.

Prior to that time, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 1, 1952, and retired Nov. 1, 1981.

A.B. married Jacqui on Feb. 3, 1984, and shared many interests over their more than 30 year union.

His particular interest was pewter casting and projects in his shop.

He and Jacqui were avid doll house builders, each one perfectly completed to placement of the last tiny piece of furniture.

A.B. may have been considered a bit of a gruff at times but it was “all bark and no bite.”

He had a generous heart and never failed to show kindness and help to those who needed it.

He will be missed by those left behind.

The family extends their thanks and gratitude to the kind and faithful caregivers at Texas Home Hospice.

A.B. and Jacqui's church home was Grace United Methodist Church, 4007 County Road 416 in Granite Shoals.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held there Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at 12:30 p.m.
