Theodore Leo “Ted” Lutringer, 84, a longtime resident of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away

peacefully with his family on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, in Slaton, Texas.

Ted was born on Feb. 4, 1932, in Taiton, Texas, to Leo Lutringer and Ludmilla Marie Scotka.

He graduated from El Campo High School and attended The University of Houston where he

played football and earned a B.B.A in Accounting.

He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Christenberry, and they were married for 55 years before her passing.

After serving in the U.S. Army, he began a long career in the oil and gas business, retiring in 1981 as the Controller of Mesa Petroleum Co. of Amarillo, Texas.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church, an outdoorsman and a loving family man.

He is survived by: his three daughters and one son and spouses, Rebecca and Randy Meador of Lubbock, Nancy and Tom Lacey of Fairview, James Kevin and Cindy Lutringer of Garland and Alison and Cory Alcala of Marietta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Kirsten Meador, Matt and Lana Meador, Nicholas Lutringer, Jaclyn and Cody Moore, Molly Lacey, Alexandra and Tyler Alcala; his brothers, Lester and Leon Lutringer; a sister, Willie May Cykala.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister, Lilly.

A family service was held in celebration of his life and a an interment will be held at a later date

in South Texas.
