Marble Falls man indicted on stalking, aggravated assault

A Marble Falls resident and convicted felon will face trial once again following an indictment on charges of stalking, aggravated assault and harassment.
Richard Lee Rose II, 39, was arrested on two felony charges and one misdemeanor after an indictment was filed against him on May 3.
The a grand jury in the 33rd Judicial District Court indicted Rose on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony, and stalking, a third-degree felony, after he allegedly spiked a woman's coffee with methamphetamine, stole and damaged her property, and threatened her. Rose was also indicted on the misdemeanor count of harassment in county court on the same day.
According to the indictment affidavit, on Jan. 15, Rose put methamphetamine or amphetamine into the victim's coffee. These drugs by definition are considered a deadly weapon, the report stated.
The affidavit stated that on Feb. 26, Rose also took the woman's dog, and two days later, threatened “to send embarrassing photographs of her to her father or grandfather or the Department of Human and Protective Services.”
On March 7, Rose threatened to destroy the woman's memorabilia property, the affidavit said, and on March 20, the victim discovered he had been following her.
According to authorities, Rose continued the stalking behavior when on April 2 he made “repeated phone calls to her place of employment,” and “threatened to break all the windows in her vehicle.” The affidavit states that Rose did enter her vehicle and went through her mail.
Nine days later he once again threatened to show the victim's father and neighbor embarrassing photos of her.
Rose was booked into Burnet County Jail on Thursday, May 12. He remains there on bond of $12,500 for the stalking and harassment charges. Bond has not been set for the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Rose has a criminal history of felony convictions, including commercial burglary in January 1997 and forger in June 1999.
