Early PEC election voting ends June 10
Until June 10, Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) members are able to vote early in the 2016 board of directors election.
This year, PEC is offering incentives for early voting. Members voting by mail or online will be entered in a random drawing for one of several prizes, including a home theater package, Nest Learning Thermostats and $100 gift cards.
Members will have a final chance to vote at the co-op’s annual meeting on Saturday, June 18, at the Dripping Springs High School Performing Arts Center.
Registration and voting will be held from 8-10 a.m. Election results will be announced during the business meeting, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Find more information at pec.coop/annualmeeting.
Members unable to attend the annual meeting can participate in the co-op election by voting online at https://www.directvote.net/pec or by completing and mailing in their ballot by June 10. Members also may bring their ballots to PEC offices and vote online using a publicly available Internet-connected device. Members who need a replacement ballot may call for one, toll-free to SBC, 866-909-3549 or send an email to support@directvote.net.
In this year’s election, PEC members will vote to elect directors from Board Districts 4 and 5. Co-op members from all seven districts may vote in the election for all director positions. Co-op members will be selecting from the following candidates, whose names are listed in the order they will appear on the ballot, determined by random drawing:
-
District 4: Jim Powers
-
District 5: Carlos Palasciano and James Oakley
Also on the ballot:
-
An amendment to the PEC Articles of Incorporation that, if approved by voters, would guarantee that members of the cooperative have the right to speak at every meeting of PEC Board of Directors.
-
An opportunity for members to opt in to the Power of Change program, a new bill round up program supporting grants to eligible non-profit organizations and qualified members in need.
