Shirley Genevieve Macrae, 84, of Horseshoe Bay, formerly of Wayne, New Jersey, was called by our lord Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, she lived in Wayne until 1997, before retiring with her loving husband, Robert Macrae, in Horseshoe Bay.
Always more concerned for everyone’s welfare above her own, Shirley was employed as an RN at Wayne General Hospital for 26 years before retirement.
She was the beloved wife of 63 years to Robert L. Macrae, dear mother of Scott Macrae and his wife Doreen, Craig Macrae and his wife Margaret, Barbara Gayle Toomes and her husband David, Nancy Anderson and her husband Robert, and Tim Macrae and his wife Lisa.
Shirley was the proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren, Cori Prisco and Christopher Macrae; Michael, Ryan, and Alexis Polizzi; Michael Beeth and Krystyna Fennelly; and Logan, Kyle, and Hailey Macrae; in addition to five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jayden, Cayson, Braydin, and Kennedy.
A celebration of life service was held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 Highway 281 North, Marble Falls.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of America, the Marble Falls Public Library, or the Marble Falls Library Thrift Store where Shirley was a volunteer.
