Pauline Royce Hammerschmidt; Mom, Nanny, Grandma and Gigi a longtime resident of Marble Falls passed to life eternal on Sunday, May 8, 2016 – Mother’s Day. She was 93 years young. She was born on Jan. 7, 1923 in Shamrock, Oklahoma to Cora and Roy Williams. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1940. She met and married Jerry Hammerschmidt on June 26, 1942; they had two children, Steve and Donna. They moved to Wauwatosa, Wisconsin in 1945 where she worked as a bookkeeper for the City of Wauwatosa. To enjoy their retirement Pauline and Jerry moved to Horseshoe Bay in 1981. Not one to sit at home, she went to work at St. Peters Lutheran Church as the church secretary until her retirement in 1995 after 20 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and an honorary member of Blazing Star Eastern Star in Marble Falls. She loved to crochet, cross stitch and knit, but her true love was her family, especially her fur babies. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Meyn of Horseshoe Bay; four grandchildren, Jim Hammerschmidt and wife Jill of Rockville, Maryland, Kim Kankel and husband Darrell of Pasadena and Kingsland, Texas, Rene Daniel and husband Robert of Blanco, Texas and Rob Hammerschmidt and wife Jen of Winfield, Illinois; one niece, Diantha Veltman and husband Clyde of League City, Texas; along with her 13 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Jerry Hammerschmidt; son Steve Hammershchmidt; son-in-law Jim Meyn and sister, Betty Gustafson. Memorial Service for Pauline will be Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls.
