He is survived by his wife; one sister, Peggy Cain; three children, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
His grandson, Donnie, wrote this about Jesse:
“This is the man who took my grandmother to wife and brought much love and happiness to her.
They became truly as one in all they did.
My grandfather, Jesse Lewis, brought the love and kindness of a good man to a large family, and my mam-maw could not have chosen a better man for the task of leading and caring for their family.
He strove to serve all with whom he cam into contact.
I learned how to properly treat my wife by watching how my paw-paw treated his wife.
My grandfather will be greatly missed in this world because of the way he lived his life.”
Jesse was a life long member of the Church of Christ, and a 65 year member of the Henry Thomas Masonic Lodge.
He served his country in the Army.
A memorial service for Jesse will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, at the Marble Falls Church of Christ on Broadway Street.
Full Masonic Rites will follow at the Smithwick Cemetery.
