Jeffrey Thomas Braden

June 16, 1988 ~ Sept. 23, 2016

 

Capt. Jeffrey Thomas Braden, 28, stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickham, formerly of Marble Falls, Texas, went to be with Lord on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016.

Jeff was born in San Antonio, Texas to Tom and Laura Braden on June 16, 1988.

Jeff grew up in Belton and Waco, Texas where he graduated from Reicher Catholic High School in 2007.

He was coached by his dad in football, basketball and baseball and was named All State Football player.

He received two Senatorial nominations to the United States Air Force Academy where he also played football and was on the Rodeo Team.

He graduated in 2011 with a degree in Business Management earning a pilot slot and began his fighter pilot training.

In all of his training courses, he earned Distinguished Graduate.

Following his F-22A training, Jeff was assigned to the 199/19th Fighter Squadron, JBPHH where he served as the squadrons Electronic Combat Pilot, Chief of Scheduling, Mission Commander and flew combat missions in the Middle East in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Layne; daughter, Mackenzie and unborn son, Jeffrey Jr.; his parents, Tom and Laura Braden of Marble Falls; sisters Brittany Rowan and husband Chris of Arlington, Virginia; Marissa Powers and husband Jake of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Hailey Braden Lynch and husband Ben of Pensacola, Florida; two nephews and four nieces.

Jeff’s family will cherish his memory, knowing how much he loved of his Lord and his family.

Everyone that knew Jeff will remember his gift of listening, making everyone feel important, his great sense of humor, infectious smile and constant story telling and jokes. Jeff enjoyed life, all outdoor sports, including fishing, hunting, hiking and water sports. A proud Texan, he loved his UT Longhorns and San Antonio Spurs.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at JBPHH in Honolulu, Hawaii.
