Jesse Kenneth Fry

Nov. 6, 1924 ~ Dec. 8, 2016

Jesse Kenneth Fry was born Nov. 6, 1924, and died Dec. 8, 2016, at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 2 days. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nelda DeSpain Fry; four children, Kenneth Michael Fry and wife Pat, Robert and wife Mary, Kay McCoy and husband Clayton and Kerry Williams and husband Bryan. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren with three more great-grandchildren due within the next few months.

Jesse spend most of his childhood in Pleasant Valley, Texas, living a typical country life as a farmer and rancher's son. He was drafted at age 19 into the Army Air Corp where he served for 3 years.

Jesse married Nelda on Nov. 1, 1947. They settled into a small rock house that Jesse built with rocks gathered on the family ranch. While there, Jesse attended an agricultural school using the GI Bill. He farmed and ranched for three years before moving to Spicewood, Texas. The drought forced them to move to Marble Falls. He went to work for Mathis Air Conditioning Company, Granite Mountain and retired in 1987 after 20 years at the West Ranch.

Jesse enjoyed his retirement, his family time in the country and fishing with the Fry guys.

The family would also like to thank Jessica Harris for her loving care of Jesse these past two years. She has been a blessing to our family, to Jesse and a vital part of our “team.”

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at the Marble Falls Church of Christ.
