Mustangs lose big against Fredericksburg

Marble Falls needs to get tougher and bear down on the dirty work.

That’s the perspective of coach Matt Bailey after the team broke for the holidays with a 5-9 record.

The Mustangs got bombed in their Tuesday home game against Fredericksburg, 60-42. The rival Billies hit nine 3-pointers, getting good looks over the Mustangs defense.

Five-foot-10 senior Tyler Kaman buried six 3-pointers, including three in the third quarter when Fredericksburg took control of the game. The Mustangs made five 3-pointers.

“We have to be tougher,’’ Bailey said. “That’s what we’re trying to learn. It’s something you have to want to as a player.’’

Frederickburg reserve Cole Jenskke was unconscious, making all three of his attempts on perimeter bombs. It was Jenskee that turned a competitive game into a Billie runaway.

He turned a 29-24 lead into a 35-24 advantage with back-to-back 3-pointers within 16 seconds.
