Richard John Coleman Sr. passed from this earth peacefully on Friday Feb.17, in Marble Falls at the age of 91.
Richard was born on Aug. 16, 1925, in Jennings, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Helen Angelle Coleman, his parents James Joseph Coleman and Mary Gould Coleman, and four brothers; Bob, Ray, Harry and Howard Coleman.
Richard is survived by his daughter; Joy Citron of Lafayette, Louisiana, his son; Richard J. Coleman Jr. and daughter-in-law Rhonda Istre Coleman of Marble Falls, five grandchildren; Matt, Jon and Hollie Citron, Rich and Case Coleman, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Growing up as the youngest of five boys in Jennings, Richard was an exceptional athlete and developed many friendships throughout his life.
He proudly served our country in World War II in the United States Marine Corp.
With Richard's brilliant engineering mind, he worked for 40 plus years, both domestically and internationally, as an oil field consultant.
After retirement, he enjoyed fishing and working on his son’s ranch in Texas.
Family will have a private graveside service in Jennings, Louisiana.
Richard’s family would like to thank the Gateway Gardens’ staff and the Hospice nurses for their wonderful, loving care.
