She was the second of four children, who all preceded her in death: Connell Taylor, Patsy Landers, and Glenn Taylor.
She married H.N. Turner in 1941. Five children were born to their union. Mary graduated high school from Tuscola, Texas, and attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene. She was preceded in death by H.N. in 1997, and daughter, Marylyn Martin, of Marble Falls in 2013.

Mary enjoyed working in the yard, cooking, going to church, and singing in the choir. She worked various jobs in the community, including many years as secretary of the First Baptist Church in Kingsland. One of her greatest joys was cheering on any sporting event her children or grandchildren were playing in — especially football! She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown at the time of her death.
Mary was saved at an early age and baptized by her father, a Baptist minister. She remained strong in her faith to the very end.
