Delaney Kelley excels at regional 5A golf event.

Senior Delaney Kelley closed out her Marble Falls High School golf career in record setting fashion.  She shot rounds of 83 and 73 to shoot a total of 156 breaking her two week old 36-hole school record of 160 that she fired at the district tournament.  Both scores were shot at the Golf Club of Texas in San Antonio.  Delaney’s 73 tied the 18-hole school record that was also shot by Kelsie Tackitt in 2016 and Angela Akins in 2004.  Delaney hit 10 of 14 fairways, and 15 of 18 greens in regulation to give her multiple birdie opportunities.

She did convert two of those chances for birdie to go with three bogies and 13 pars to give her the one-over par 73 total.

Delaney finished the regional tournament tied for 10th place which earned her first team All-Region honors as well.

She was one position out of advancing to the state tournament behind Austin High's Olivia Stokes, 150, and Hannah Choi, 153, and Tuloso Midway's Charlotte Davis, 152.  The top three medalists not on advancing teams, qualify for the state tournament.

Delaney also has committed to continue her golf play next year at Trinity University in San Antonio.
