Sandra Jean Maxwell

Sandra Jean Maxwell, 80 of Marble Falls, TX passed away on August 8, 2017 surrounded by loved ones.

Sandra (Sandy, Jean, Grandma, Big Grandma, Granny) was born in DeLeon, TX on August 26, 1936 to W.T. Heflin and Lola Mae Waldon.

Sandra married Jerry Joe Maxwell on May 15, 1954. In 1977 they moved to Marble Falls. They were married 52 years before his death on December 23, 2006.

Sandy spent most of her adult life as a homemaker and raising four children. She was a marvelous cook and baker. Nothing was better than Granny’s cooking. When her children were younger she was a Girl Scout leader and a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts. She loved bowling, fishing, reading, sewing, bird watching, flower gardening, family poker games during the holidays and spending as much time as possible outdoors. She loved having beer thirty, a long-time family tradition. Sitting on a family member’s porch or out in her gazebo having a beer with whoever stopped by. Family stories told so the little ones would know about their past and ancestors or maybe a family member far away. Where ever she was there was love, fun and laughter.

Sandy is survived by her four children - Darlene Brinkley (Steve), Denice Mills, Randall Maxwell (Lisa), Wesley Maxwell (Rhonda), her eight grandchildren, Jennifer New, Kristena Fry (Hank), Sandra Mott (Thomas), Kurtis Maxwell (Shelly), Karrie Crownover (Laine), Kallie Goodson (Brandon),Melissa Alexander (Dee), Johnny Maxwell, 17 great-grand children - Megan Hill (Johnny Macias), Whitney Hill, Makayla Hannabass, James Fry (Lindsey), Tyler Fry (Sami Ledbetter), Chace Fry, Levi Fry, Natalie Longoria, Callie Callahan, Bo Crownover, Tripp Crownover, Halle Maxwell, Addison Alexander, Aiden Alexander, Gavin Maxwell, Caden Maxwell, Emma Maxwell, Bailee Maxwell, 4 great-great grandchildren – Bryson Fry and baby Fry, Isabel Macias and baby Macias, one sister – Karen Sue (Susie) Rasco, sister-in-love Jody Becker Heflin, many nieces and nephews and an abundance of other family and friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents W.T. Heflin and Lola Mae Rose, husband Jerry Joe Maxwell, her parents-in-law G.W. and Cleta Maxwell, son-in-law David Ramirez, sister Ann Clark, brother Jerry Dell Heflin, brother-in- law James Rasco, grandsons Kristopher Maxwell and Jerry Maxwell, nephews Vernon Heflin, Vince Clark and Rocky Rasco.

She was loved by many friends, and adored by her family and will be missed more than words can say.

There are no words to describe the huge void here since you are gone Momma. You were the best Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-great Grandmother and sister always and we love you so very much. We are so thankful that God chose you for us. He’s called you home now……. rest peacefully until we see you again Momma.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or an organization of your choice.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 pm on August 26, 2017 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 US Hwy 281, Marble Falls, TX.
