Sherry Kay Beard Lesley, 61, left this life to be with the Lord on Oct. 22, 2017.
Sherry was born January 20, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to Nita Brookreson Beard and Bob R. Beard. She attended school in Mesquite Texas, graduating from North Mesquite High School in 1974. After high school, Sherry attended Texas Tech University.
Sherry’s faith in the Lord was strong. She became a member of the Methodist Church as a teenager.
Sherry had a passion to have her own business, which led her to start the Rag Doll, a boutique shop that was located across the street from the University in Lubbock, Texas. She had a love for the hill country of Texas which led her to Horseshoe Bay in 1996. Sherry again established herself in the community as the owner-founder of Rag Doll in Marble Falls and GG Ganache, a furniture and home accessories store located in Marble Falls.
Sherry had a strong love for her family and friends. She devoted tireless energy to taking care of all she touched. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome and loved bringing people together.
Sherry loved Fall, History, date nights, 70s music, dancing, trips to Roundtop, the beach and anywhere her friends and family were gathered. She loved Texas Tech and watching College Game Day. Most of all she loved her beloved husband and son.
Sherry was an accomplished business owner, with tireless energy and the talent to create beauty in everything she did. Her employees loved her. She was amazing. GG Ganache is Sherry Lesley.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Kent Lesley; son Greg Dukes; parents Bob and Nita Beard; sisters Julie (Rob) Morgan and Sandra (Larry) Dickerson; brother Bobby (Margo) Beard; father of her son, Grant Dukes; her nieces and nephews; countless friends and her two Westies.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10:30 a.m. at The Church at Horseshoe Bay. Burial will be private, family only please.
