Robert Clyde Johnson, 81, of Bangs, Texas, passed away Dec. 2, 2017, and went on to his eternal reward. Memorial services will be held Dec. 12, 2017, at the Bangs Church of Christ at 1 p.m. Visitation to follow in the fellowship hall.
Robert was born March 8, 1936, in Quitman, Arkansas to Shelby Clyde Johnson and Eunice Jewell Wildman. He married Barbara Jean Bradford on April 9, 1960, in Woodland, California. They were blessed with 57 years together.
Robert attended school in Arkansas and California. He was a machinist by trade. He proudly served in the USMC from 1953-1957 and was stationed in Hawaii and Japan.
Robert was a faithful member of the Bangs Church of Christ.
He loved his family and friends and found pleasure in helping others. He always wore a bright smile and loved to joke around.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Johnson of Bangs; sons, Robert (Meredith) Johnson of Nampa, Idaho, Shelby (Helen) Johnson of Brownwood, Texas, Tom (Wanda) Johnson of Kingsland, Texas; daughters, Tammy Keely of Bangs, Sharon (Tony) Shultz of Marble Falls, Texas; brother, W. Mack (Georgina) Haynes of Niece, California; sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson of Woodland, California; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He also has 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren that he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Shelby Clyde Johnson.
