Ann Vaughan Farwell

October 11, 1939 — March 19, 2018

Ann Vaughan Farwell passed away March 19, 2018. She was born October 11, 1939, in Dalhart, Texas, to Ruth Elizabeth Bowron-Farwell and Frank B. Farwell.

She attended and graduated from Coronado High School, outside San Diego, California. After spending some time in College and working in insurance, she decided that her future was in the air … with American Airlines.

She started in Dallas, Texas, as a flight attendant and was promoted to a training position very soon after. She ended her very successful career for American Airlines as manager of field flight service training.

Ann lived in many amazing places in her life including Taiwan, Coronado, Chicago, and San Francisco. But she was always a Texan at heart, spending time in Graham, Dalhart, Dallas, and ultimately retiring in Horseshoe Bay, the community she loved more than any other. Despite many lingering health issues challenging her ability to care for herself in the latter stages of her life, she fought as hard as possible to spend her last year enjoying her home in Horseshoe Bay, as she so desired.

The Farwell family has a long and rich history in Texas and includes generations who have proudly served their country in the military. Ann had a love and great appreciation for the “Farwell family tree” and the traditions within the Farwell family. With that, came a deep respect for the military-particularly the men and women who have served our country. She was an avid viewer of the Military Channel and loved old war movies. Ann had a lot of talents, but perhaps the one that helped so many friends and family members was her knack for decorating. She helped many of her friends and family members decorate their homes for no other reason than the tremendous enjoyment she got out of it.

Ann touched many people throughout her life and had a countless number of friends who loved her. She was remarkably selfless. She helped care for many, many friends and family members and she was always someone that could be counted on to be there for all of us when we needed it the most.

We will miss her for all that as well as so much more. We are forever thankful for having her in our lives.

We love you Ann.
