In 1993, she and Bill retired and built a house on Lake LBJ. In retirement she enjoyed tending to her yard, cooking, reading and going on the occasional trip with Bill. She spent many hours with her friends from the neighborhood and church friends from Genesis Lutheran Church in Buchanan Dam.
