Joe Raymond Sanchez, 90, of Granite Shoals, Texas, passed away on May 21, 2018. He was born to Refugio and Amalia Mollie (Vidal) Sanchez on July 17, 1927 in Austin, Texas.

Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Joe proudly served in the United States Navy for many years. After serving his country, he devoted his life to his family and friends. Nothing gave him more joy than taking care of his family. His favorite past-time was dancing the night away with his beautiful wife, Margo. Joe was a member of the Hill City Masonic Lodge # 456 in Austin, Texas.

Joe is survived by his son, Robert Joe Sanchez and his wife Emiko of San Diego, California, daughters, Sandra Jo Ray and her husband Gary of San Diego, California, Stella Sanchez-Wade and her husband Edward, Sr. of San Diego, California, and Gwen Salter of Georgetown, Texas, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, brothers, Raymond and Leon Sanchez, and sister, Minnie Sanchez-Parrott.

Visitation was held from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Avenue, Kingsland, Texas, 78639. A graveside service was held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway, 195, Killeen, Texas 76542.
