Bobby Gene Burgess, 86, passed away on Aug. 6, 2018, after a brief illness. He was born on January 8, 1932 in Quitman, Texas to Bonnie and Ida Burgess. His family moved to Houston when he was a young child. After a brief stint in the Navy, Bobby returned to the University of Houston where he graduated with degrees in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering. He spent the next 30 years working for Houston Lighting & Power Company (now Center Point Energy) in Houston, Texas. Upon retirement, he and Lynda moved to Meadowlakes, Texas where they have lived for the past 22 years.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lynda Christine Burgess; daughter, Kelly Kay and husband, John Hussey; brother, Bonnie Ray Burgess from Haynesville, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Ida and a sister, Vaudeen Hebert.

A private graveside service was held at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, Texas. Arrangements under the care of Jenkins Funeral Home, Burnet, Texas.
