Johnnie Kay (Barnett) Peril, 74, of Harper, Texas, passed away peacefully on Nov. 29, 2018 at Windcrest Nursing Home in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was born on March 22, 1944 in Johnson City, Texas, to Chester Arthur and Kathleen (Kroll) Barnett. She was married to James E. Peril on Dec. 28, 1963. She attended school and graduated from Marble Falls, Texas.
Johnnie Kay is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, James E. Peril; her parents, Chester and Kathleen Barnett; and numerous other family members.
She is survived by her son, James Arthur (Jim) Peril and wife, Dori, of Granite Shoals, Texas; daughter, Mary Peril of Arkansas; and sister, Nona Fox and husband Mark Fox of Marble Falls. Grandchildren are Payton and Presley Peril, and Zach, Corey and Tyler Griffin. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Todd and Troy Fox, Tempe Winters, and Malcolm, Kaiser and Kayla Young.
Johnnie Kay truly enjoyed life. She loved hauling kids around to the rodeos.
She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family of Johnnie Kay would like to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Windcrest Nursing Home in Fredericksburg, who provided such excellent care for her.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Harper Cemetery in Harper.
